Hey you beautiful people!
Hope you’re all doing good. And I also hope that you know about Street Style Delhi.
I vividly remember how, when I had just started blogging over Instagram I messaged the SSD people on asking how I could get featured. haha. They had also just started back then but they just took over Instagram. I mean the idea of capturing regular people in their own version of street style is amazing.
It is run by this friends duo, Aliya and Aalok. I thing they are doing a beautiful job covering people’s individuality and style. They have very recently started this project called Delhi Street Runway where they are covering people, their style and writing a whole story about it. Anyone and everyone can be a part of this and so I thought why not.
We planned our shoot for the morning and Aliya was there all set with her camera, wearing her jogger pants and jelly sandals, looking on point with trends herself. Before we knew it we were talking like mad men and discussing our views on fashion.
Aliya and Aalok are both really good college friends. On asking how they came up with Street Style Delhi, she says “Aalok once asked me why do I not do something about my interest in fashion!” And thats how SSD was born.
So any of you who is in Delhi and has their own style can contact SSD and be a part of this project. And one more thing that I would like to tell you is that contrary to what people say or do, there is no particular definition of street style. Everything is street style in it own way unless you’re made-up too much. So anything that you wear out on the streets IS street style. It doesn’t just have to be a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top. It can very well be a skirt, an ethnic suit or even a saree for that matter!
Let us now talk about the looks that I tried. Being the person that I am I couldn’t just do one and decided on playing with my look a little. I came up with three distinct looks, using the same clothes of course!
First of all I decided to wear a marbled bodycon dress from Forever21, pairing it with below-knee length socks. I bought these ages ago. I wore my coverse as gladiators! Right, I just put long pieces of ribbon as laces in them and tied them over the socks. 🙂
I really wanted to for a back-to-school look here. And you are all aware of my obsession with chokers lately so I wore this tattoo choker I made on my own. I am sure you read the DIY tutorial but if in case you missed out, here it is : DIY Tattoo Choker Finally I wore a cropped white shirt over it to give it a more laid back feel.
I still remember, sometime ago we could see a lot of blouses (tops) with buttons on the back and I also remember what a rage they were. I never owned any so I decided to make one! 😛 Well not really. I just wore my shirt’s front on the back and to make it look even more fun it put a bow (that I cut off a disney t-shirt) on the front.
The night before I was preparing for the shoot I somehow came up with a shirt-skirt! I am not sure if anyone has come up with it before me or not but I definitely loved what I saw. The shirt here is cropped and so it does not cover the whole skirt but if you do it with a bigger shirt I cannot tell you how good it turns out to be! I will show how to do it yourself very very soon! 🙂
