As I lay back on my bed sometimes and think what a journey this life has been, I am surprised to realize that even though our dreams evolve with time, there are however some that stay in hour heads forever until they come true. (Too philosophical eh?)
I have many of the first and even more of the latter. I remember how my mother watched a lot of mythology oriented shows and I am sure even yours did! They had their own kind of ‘soap-opera drama’. Well I never really liked them, but even though the tom-boy that I was, I was fond of their dreamy elegant outfits. As stupid as it may sound, we all have these weird idiotic secret wishes, don’t we all? Please tell me you do too! 😛
I do not really have a lot of ethnic pieces in my wardrode and sometimes I do feel the dearth of it. I am glad that I am now more interested into Indian wear and the feminine side of me has awakened, if that’s how I can put it! haha.
Well, you guys know that I have posted a few modern-ethnic looks and the current-in-trend long slit tops are the best modern-kurtis that I always recommend. My mother is always ecstatic to see her ‘traditional Indian ladki’ in me when she sees me in those!
I recently came across this really pretty block coloured double slit top from Missa More and I couldn’t help but go back to that childhood fantasy world. The top is perfect for those who, like me don’t invest much in those super-expensive detailed ethnic wear outfits. Also, it can serve as a quick fix to all your impromptu ethnic functions and moods.
Well, coming to the styling part, I was actually lucky enough to have a maxi dress in a light pastel colour, same as the top. Wohooo! Then, any ethnic wear is incomplete without the perfect jewelry. I completed mine with this double layered pearl necklace from Style Fiesta and similar earings that I bought from the streets. For shoes I chose to wear these monochrome ikat shoes from Vajor. 🙂 Enjoy the pictures!
I know, I know, a little over the top with all those peacock feathers right? haha. Well, a little girl just lived her dream. 😀 I hope you guys liked this post as much as I liked working for it.
Now stop wearing your slit tops with just those skinny jeans and shorts like the others do, try your own thing, maybe a flowy skirt, a pair of palazzo or your own childhood dream. What say?
