Disclaimer: This post is going to be deep.
So I get a lot of questions on why I do what I do and why I always have to do things a certain way. I am going to try answer these today.
So not until long, I was just another random person with no identity of my own. I was preparing for CAT right after graduation and honestly did not know what I wanted to do with my life. I used to come home and cry every day because I knew that CAT was definitely not my calling. Fashion was always an important part of my life but it always took a back seat.
After a lot of crying and breaking down I realised my calling and went ahead with NIFT for my masters. Before the results had even come out I had started with this blog and trust me, I never thought I would come this far with it. I allowed myself a trial period of sixth months to see if I liked it and I definitely fell in love as you can well see.
Having come from a middle class family I never had enough money to opt for brands and it was not until in my third year of college that I had even been inside a Zara. Imagine! That’s also why thrifted clothes and styling one piece in many ways became my thing.
Also, if you have followed my blog from the initial days you know that I wasn’t this quirky or experimental. I was just another girl who loved to wear skinny jeans and a cropped shirt. It took my time to realise how fun it was to experiment. I wasn’t very comfortable in the beginning and now it is who I am. Experimenting has become my identity now. But the reason I do it is not just the fun but the feeling of freedom to do and be who I want to be.
To do what you want to do is the best feeling in this world. I wouldn’t say that this is what I am going to be doing for the rest of my life but I hope I love what I do and do what I love. (So should everyone!) So why I experiment? Because that’s who I am, it defines me.
Anyway, enough of blabbering for the day. Let me tell you what I have for today! Taking about experimenting I thought this one had to be a little out there! So I decided to wear a crop top I made out of a pair of leggings and put some pom-poms on it. For the bottom I went for a skirt made out of two huge pink scarves. Tied one on the back and other on the front and tadaaaa you have yourself a brand new skirt. I build the look up with some pomp om earrings, my classic Adidas, a cap and a rad holographic bag! Is it too much? I love it but of course you could tone and down and pick up elements that you like for yourself.
We shot this one at a big dhobhi ghat here in Delhi and I absolutely love the pictures. It is sad that the dhobhi ghat culture is slowly dying but I am definitely going to cherish this one for a long time. Let’s take a look!
And here we go! Let me know what you think of this one or if you have any more questions for me. Always love your feedback. Do join me on Instagram too, if you already don’t!
