Let me start with a funny story. When I was a kid, about 6 years old, my cousin got married. And among other clothes for the wedding, me and my brother were bought a pair of dungarees each.. My brother decided to wear it everyday, EVERY DAY. After a day of the wedding, the men of the family, along with all the kids were supposed to go pick up our cousin from her in-laws’, as per the traditions. My brother insisted on wearing the same dungarees, again! My mom had given them out for a wash but my brother wouldn’t budge. And as life (or my mom!) would have it my brother had to decide whether to go without his dungarees or not go at all and in between his crying fits, we decide to leave him to it. Haha!
Rains bring different memories to different people. While some go back to paper boats and puddles, others are reminded of the worst of traffic jams. A long time back a boy told me that he had never in life enjoyed in the rain by choice. My question is, how can you not?
The third contemporary way I wore my saree.
Let me give you my third reason before we move ahead. The only couple of times I’ve ever worn a saree, I was always worried about the blouse. The blouse has to be breath taking, isn’t it? Being the size that I am, I could never even borrow from somebody else. Such a hassle!
Now? Now it doesn’t matter because now I know that a blouse doesn’t have to be a ‘typical’ saree blouse. It can anything from a crop top, a shirt, a tee-shirt to a blazer like I wore in the previous part of this series. If you haven’t checked the first two ways I styled this saree in, take a look here: Part 01 and Part 02.
So yes, today is to showing that you do not need a ‘normal’ blouse for a saree. So don’t get worked up for that impromptu function or ‘oh! The tailor ruined my blouse’ , try anything that you think may go with the saree. I chose a to wear a bardot top in my first part, a blazer in the second and this time I am wearing a bell sleeved printed top.
Summer is here, soaring high. In the capital it is so hard to breathe, let alone worry about what to wear. I find it so hard to wear clothes in this heat. Yes, I wish we were stone age humans and roaming around with no clothes on. Seriously though, I cannot imagine myself wearing skinny jeans or a bodycon dress in this heat. A simple cotton shirt dress, or a t-shirt and shorts does the trick for me.
But what do you do on days where you need to look a little dressed up? You obviously can’t wear bling bling in this heat. I definitely can’t. Classy day wear becomes a little difficult. This is when The Jodi Life came to my rescue. I have been in love with their collections for a long time now and there have been two Jodi Life lookbook here on blog already (Check them here and here) but I definitely wanted to show you this beautiful dress and how you can kill those summer days with a bang. Let’s see the three looks I created:
